What better way to explore the Moreton Bay Marine Parks amazing wonders than from your very own double or single Sea Kayak. We have blended the southern, central and northern sections of this aquatic paradise into a fabulous 4 day journey to capture the magic that makes the Bay so unique.
This remarkable adventure features fully catered sumptuous meals and all associated camping and kayaking equipment. This journey allows you the chance to visit secluded locations and beaches by kayak and truly experience the natural beauty and wildlife in a relaxed, quiet setting.
You will receive full tuition before we embark covering paddling techniques, a thorough safety briefing and an introduction to the finer points of Sea Kayaking, allowing you to relax and enjoy the natural surrounds with the knowledge that your guides have got it all under control.
Our launch point on day one is the Cleveland Point Boat Launch, next to the Marine Rescue building. this departure point allows us easy access to the water and a spectacular view of the paddle ahead.
Utilising the Southeast trade winds and our specialised sea kayak sails, we paddle and sail the protected Western shores of the two largest islands, North Stradbroke and Moreton. This coastline offers some of the most remote paddling found anywhere in the Bay. We cruise through Henderson's Gutter with many Dugong and Turtle encounters within meters of the kayaks. These creatures rarely see other vessels in this spot and don’t seem to be to worried about the quiet slow pace of the kayaks.
Up the coast a little further and we visit the Big Sand Hills. Views from the top are the best you’ll find anywhere in the Bay. Working our way further north along Moreton Island we arrive at our last campsite, the Tangalooma Wrecks. The spectacular snorkeling and fish life are a true highlight of this spot with only a short swim from the shore.
On the final day of the journey we will connect with one of the two barges that service the island from Tangalooma wrecks. A luxurious ride home to the mainland featuring a magical view of the whole Moreton and Straddie coast awaits you as we glide the 1 hour journey back to civilisation. We return to the mainland and disembark from the ferry terminal located at Howard Smith Drive Just out of Brisbane. The Moreton Island Ferry Terminal is located approximately 10 kilometres from the Gateway Bridge toll booth.
This will be our ferry departure and drop off point for all passengers upon conclusion of the adventure.
We can arrange passenger drop offs but these must be made by prior arrangement
The Moreton Bay Marine Park 4-Day Adventure offers a truly unique and memorable experience for people of all paddling capabilities and interests. All trips are aimed at first timers - as we believe a "sense of adventure" is more important than having any experience. No kayaking experience is required as we can ease first timers into the more stable kayaks until confidence and skills increase.
You do need to be confident around water for your own safety, please ensure that you make mention of any medical conditions upon booking.
This trip will suit anyone who needs a little time out and relaxation. Don't worry your guides will show you how it’s done - whether you are a complete novice or have wet a blade before.
The Aussie Sea Kayak Company pioneered commercial Sea Kayaking in Moreton Bay and has extended its tour selection to include this memorable experience. We can offer you more insight, knowledge and professional experience on all our tours in the Bay.
