The Sunshine Coast has a multitude of diverse and protected waterways that are ideal for the ultimate sea kayak adventure. Located a comfortable one hour's drive North of Brisbane, the region boasts home to many spectacular marine and bird species that inhabit the coastal waters and foreshores.

Hidden within the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park is one of the Sunshine Coast’s best kept paddling secrets, 'The Noosa Everglades'.

Best explored by canoe or kayak, the upper reaches of the Noosa River and the Everglades represent an ancient waterway that has existed unchanged for thousands of years. The river winds it’s way south behind the massive sand dunes of the North Shore that protect this natural wonder from the power of the Pacific Ocean.

The tannin coloured waters of the river offer the most outstanding reflections of the paperbarks, bloodwoods and cotton trees that overhang from the banks.

Wildlife flourishes in this region of the river, freshwater Australian Bass use the submerged logs as cover, goannas patrol the banks, and the bird life is stunning. Many locations along the rivers edge have cultural significance and were used by the aboriginal people for ceremony and were sites of the first Timber Mills in the region.
